Recording and tracking for music production.

Recording is the capture stage of a production: the performance, musicians and session requirements shape the engineering brief. Jean-Pierre’s established areas of practice include recording and tracking, alongside studio mixing and mastering. StudioJPB is the named studio practice in his professional history.

A useful session inquiry explains what you want to record, who will perform and how the material will be used. Include the number of musicians, instruments and vocals, any existing recordings, the intended production schedule and the recording location. This allows the capture and later studio stages to be discussed as separate parts of the work.

Connect the session to the rest of the production.

A project can need recording, mixing, mastering or an agreed combination of those stages. Clarify who is responsible for each stage and what files need to pass between the people involved. Delivery format, session compatibility and handover requirements belong in the brief rather than being assumed from a general recording credit.

Alongside his engineering practice, Jean-Pierre develops audio software through Zynforge Audio, including Zynforge Recording for multitrack recording and playback. His studio, live production and software work share an attention to practical production requirements. International recording inquiries are welcome, with location and travel agreed per project.
